Czestochowa – what to see in Czestochowa

Czestochowa is the religious capital of Poland, because it hosts the most important monastery in the country – the Jasna Gora sanctuary in CzestochowaPauline monastery of Jasna Góra. It is famous for the sacred painting of Black Madonna, placed in the shrine of the Virgin Mary. Pilgrims from all around the world come here to pray, because many miracles happened there. Also people from Poland go to Pauline’s monastery by foot during summer holidays, often for many days, to praise the God. Częstochowa was one of the favourite places of pope John Paul II during his visits in Poland.
