Central Europe Pearls – Vienna tour

Day 1st 
Your arrival from Poland to Vienna by express train, where you are welcomed by our driver. Transfer to a hotel located in Vienna centre. Time to relax or private walks and arrangements. An overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2nd
Breakfast, and half-day Historical Vienna tour. The program includes: famous Ringroad, laid out on the sitesof the old city fortifications, the Opera House, Hofburg Palace, Fine Arts Museum, Natural History Museum, Parliament, Burgtheatre, City Hall, University and much more. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to the showrooms of the Schönbrunn Palace. Schönbrunn was built as a summer residence of the Habsburgs which St_Stephen basilica Wienwas originally constructed for Maria Theresa. Tour end at the State opera house, close to the city heart. Afternoon time on your own. An overnight stay at a hotel. (B)

Day 3rd
Breakfast and one tour of that day:
a) Romantic Danube valley cruise
Full day excursion to the most beautiful part of the Danube Valley – Trip to Melk (interior visit of the baroque Benedictine abbey) – possibility for lunch (approx. USD 22 / person) – boat trip through the Wachau – an unforgetable trip through the romantic Danube-valley with its vineyards and ruins, the charming town of Krems and the medieval village of Dürnstein. (In case of Low-Water and in winter: Lunch instead of boat trip incl.)

b) Vienna Woods – Mayerling Heiligenkreuz – Subterranean Lake
A half-day excursion which shows you the most beautiful sights of the southern part of Vienna Woods. Passing the Roman City of Baden which is famous for its thermal springs, you will drive through the romantic valley Helenental to the former Mayerling hunting lodge, today a commemorative chapel, where Crown Prince Rudolph together with Baronesse Vetsera died tragically in 1889. In the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz (1133) you visit the medieval cloister which houses the remains of last the Babenberger. We then pass the Höldrichsmühle and arrive at the Seegrotte. After a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe you leave the Vienna Woods and return to Vienna finishing at the Opera House.

c) Full day city tour to Salzburg  (with an extra charge of USD 80 / person) 
On our way to Mozart´s town of birth you become acquainted with the beautiful Salzkammergut landscape with it´s mountains and it´s numerous lakes, where the Emperor Franz Joseph and his family used to spend their holidays. Skirting the Lake Fuschl and Lake Wolfgang you reach Salzburg, where you will have time for lunch. The afternoon will be dedicated to a stroll through the old city, showing you the most important sights of the ols Bishop´s Seat. Of course we will show you Mozart´s birth place in the Getreidegasse. The Edelweiss-Song from the movie Sound of Music will come to your memory, while passing the horse-pond and from the gardens of Mirabell-Palace you will have a marvellous view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress. You will come back to Wien later that day. (B, L*)

Day 4th
Breakfast and transfer to the Vienna airport or train station. (B)
